Under the influence of centrifugal force, the liquid phase is expelled through the perforations in both the filter medium and the drum wall, while the solid phase is retained on the filter medium, forming a filter cake. Once the filter cake reaches a predetermined thickness, the feed valve is closed, and the solid phase is subsequently washed and dried. Finally, the accumulated filter cake is removed by a rotating scraper and discharged from the machine through either a shuttle chute or a screw conveyor.
